Fun, touristy. Saw the divers, dancers and city tour. City tour turned into real estate tour: Here is Sly Stallones house when he filmed Rambo, here is Julio Iglesias house and pool, etc. Nice beaches walking distance from the ship. Got a palapa, beer/margaritas and food. First port on our ships shopping guide. I call it the Scavenger Hunt. Great way to explore the city and get freebies. Son collected all the stuff in all the ports to make a charm bracelet for his girl back home.

Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo

My favorite port. Sunny, uncrowded and no McD's, KFC, or any other fond memories of the US. Jet skiing in the bay, sunning on the beach and relaxing under the shade. Cold drinks, fresh margaritas, good food and very pleasant people. This is a very safe port and many streets are pedestrian only. Didn't go to Ixtapa, as we had so much fun just a short walk from the ship. Inexpensive port and I will return.

Puerto Vallarta

Been here before and we were going to zip line but ... I got some bug the night before and was not up, period. I was left to recover and my better half and son took a cab into town to enjoy the beach and shop. This city is very touristy. Wal-Mart across the street and no lack of major food chains in view. The Wal-mart is a great place to pick up sundries, sodas, water, etc.

Mazatlan

Another favorite port. Saw the Papatlan Flyers, shopped and spent the day at the Ramada Mazatlan resort. Beach, Buffet and Beverage included. More jet skiing, sunning and somnambulance. For a great value, take a cab to El Cid. $35 all day inclusive resort.

Cabo San Lucas

Cabo has changed a little since our last visit almost 2 yrs ago. The marina is in full development, many nice yachts moored. The Boardwalk hotels and restaurants look like they have all had a fresh coat of paint. The town and marina looked very nice. Still you have to walk the 'gauntlet' once off the tender, but its part of the visit to Cabo. For fresh made drinks using fresh seasonal fruit, and only $3.50 each, go to Uno Mas. Toured the cultural centers of Hooters and Cabo Wabo. Back on board a little early for wife's spa pampering. Cabo was really getting ready for a New Year celebration. Too bad all ships (4) had left by 3pm.
