San Jaun Del Sur - a small port in Nicaragua that is not equipped to handle a large cruiseliner. Our 6 hour excursion ultimately became 3 hours as it took us 2 hours to get off the ship, another 1 hour for the tender to be able to dock at the pier. We went to the Amoyo Hacienda - had a nice lunch - saw Lake Nicaragua and the volcanos - hordes of bugs at the Hacienda.
We docked early in the morning. Instead of taking the transfer to the airport to catch a 10:45 p.m. departure, we opted for excursion 290A which gave us a tour of Valparaiso, Vina del Mar, an exceptionally large lunch (including a Pisco sour) at Olumue, and then a tour of Santiago depositing us at the airport around 6:30 p.m. This was a really enjoyable tour and we would recommend it.
