We called in on a Sunday and had to leave around 5pm - could have done with an evening in Port and missed out the next call which was Chios a small, semi derelict Greek Island on the way to Istanbul. Lots of wonderful restaurants and great leather shops.
Wonderful clean friendly and historic City where East really does meet West! Far too much to see in two days and we sailed early afternoon. Could have done with two over nights and not rushed so much to see maybe 70% of the wonderful buildings. Blue Mosque ws the highlight but ended up (as usual on coach trips) at a Bazaar - this one with great Turkish Carpets. My husband bought me a silk one and I think we paid a reasonable price for it but it was not a bargain. Haggle hard!!!!
Must not miss Ephesus and the restaurants along the waterfront are fabulous, great fresh fish and try Angora Wines either white or red they are terrific value.
