San Juan - GinDon's Rating: 5.0

lOVED san Juan. Hope to return, not nearly enough time here. We did a two hour Segway tour, booked independently, on-line. What a blast that was, tooling around the cobblestone streets on our Segways. The tour also included a visit to El Morro, one of the big Forts. A highlight of our trip. Spent the remainder of our day riding the free trolley, and walking the ancient streets of this old, beautiful city. I had researched and gotten a walking map, so we knew where to go. Fed the pigeons at Pigeon Park, and soon found myself totally covered with pigeons, head to toe. Another great photo. Had a Pina Colada at the Barrachina (birthplace of the Pina Colada), a free rum drink at the Tourist Info Center, another free rum drink at the Don Q visitor center. Had a little trouble toddling back to the ship. San Juan is beautiful and welcoming.

Grand Turk - GinDon's Rating: 4.0

GRAND TURK:  I gave this Port only a "4", because I think it's still a work in progress.  The whole island was practically blown out of the water a couple of years ago by a hurricane.  There is still lots of destruction
everywhere.  It's not a lush, tropical island like St. Thomas.  We rented a golf cart for the day and had a great time tooling around wherever we wanted to go.  There are wild donkeys, horses, cows, roaming free.  Flamingos in a salt pond.  Hidden beaches at the end of dirt roads.  The fun was in the exploring.  Stopped at Governor's Beach for a swim and snorkeling.  The cruise port area itself (Margaritaville) is amazing.  Huge, new, lots of shops, the biggest pool I've ever seen.  A nice beach right there, the ship is docked so close you could spit on it from the beach. Grand Turk needs a few years to build up, and I think it will become a prized destination.
