Grand Cayman - CAcruiser333's Rating: 5.0
Of most interest, our tour bus had to wait for iguana's to cross the road...that was a real experience, something we've never had to do before...quite different! If you go to "Hell" (that's the real name)...be sure to stop by the post office and send a post card home, it's post marked "Hell". You can say you've been to Hell and back!
We booked a tour from the shore, not through the ship. We saved some $$ doing this!

Roatan - CAcruiser333's Rating: 5+
Absolutley beautiful!! We opted to book a cab on our own for the day. Be sure to bargain!! For the two of us, price started at $80 for the whole day, but we bargained down to $45, a great deal. We had a native driver who gave us a great tour and knew all the best beaches and shopping stops. Highly recommend getting your own driver and do your own thing. The cruise ship however owns "Gumbalinda Park" and you can't go there on your own, we heard from other cruisers it was a great stop. We paid $15 each to go to the Roatan Zoo, which has only a few animals (like maybe 10 cages at most!). We were the ONLY ones at the zoo, and had our own guide who really gave us great access to the birds and monkeys (not much else there!). We were allowed in the cages, which our guess was unique because we were the only ones there.
Make time to go to the beautiful beaches! Some are free, a couple will charge about $10 via the resorts. We did both because we were amazed by the beauty of the beaches, with reefs just feet rom the shore. Bewere though....renting snorkeling equipment may be costly, they rent by the hour.
Roatan by far was our favorite stop. The island is not commericalized, and truly feels exotic!
