We did a walking tour of the downtown. Very interesting. It was our second trip there. The Amber Museum was well worth it!!! The synagogue has an interesting history as well. I hate the shopping area - the salespeople are very pushy.
The roads in this country are awful. Several near accidents. We did the river tubing and hike to waterfall. The river tubing was nice but they had to push us along. The waterfall required walking over dangerous rocks to get to the swimming site and at the top the consessionier pushed his wares.
Excellent tourist center in terminal. We walked into town. Don't miss the Pelican Shops and Fish Market. We then walked to the synagogue. All very interesting and people were friendly.
Very uninteresting area. Tour guide pointed out commercial areas not history. Dock museum was neither a reproduction, a working shipyard or much of a museum. The Antiqua museum in the port city was interesting but the door said it was open until 4 and they decided to close at 3.
We did the Off the beaten path plantation tour - it was excellent!! Lots of fun and history. Great job. Shopkeepers were very friendly. We did negotiate some prices.
