We did not visit Atlantis which seems to be the big excursion of choice. We did however take the # 10 city bus to Cable Beach. It is important to note that Cable Beach is a city, not a beach. But in Cable Beach, there are many hotels where you can access the beach. We choose Sandals beach resort and enjoyed it. We also shopped downtown a bit which was geared towards tourists but fair. Our cruise was in port at night and the Bahamas night life disappointed me a bit. Nothing seems to compare to Cozumel so if you go with those expectations you will be disappointed. Senor Frogs is average but doesn't pick up until pretty late, unless there are several ships in dock at once. The streets are not well lite at night and there is a noticable lack of security or police compared to some other ports. We were solicited for drugs walking to Senor Frogs and altough the person was friendly about it, it was an uncomfortable experience when walking with my child. While I wouldn't let this stop me from going out and about, walk in groups for safety.
