Nassau is pretty much the same as any other island - shopping, expensive food and lots of taxi drivers. I recommend booking a day stay at the British Nassau Hilton to "get away from it all". It is $40 for the day, which includes the use of their public facilities and a $30 food/beverage credit - a heated pool, private beach, clean restrooms, lounge chairs and towels, kayaks, floats, etc. The wait staff and bartenders are fun and pleasant and the food and drinks are very good albeit pricey (be prepared to spend a little bit more than the $30 if you have a few alcoholic beverages). We had a lovely day and will go again on our next cruise to Nassau.
