This port is popular for its beaches and Jewelery and I got a very good deal on a ring for our daughter. We walked to and from the ships port and this time we did not visit the beach area. Check out the ships tours and keep in mind if you get a group together you can hire a local driver we have done that many times and have had good experiences. Only deal with registered cabbies.
Love this port. Again we walked to and from the port but and did not visit the French side on this trip, however I highly recommend visiting Marigot especially if it is your first visit to St Martin. On previous visits we have hired local guides and taken tours of the island at a fraction of the cost of ships tours. Mostly we like to find a spot on the beach on the dutch side get some sun, shop a little and drink Margaritas while gazing over the lovely scene sand and ocean.
