Following my experience in Jamaica (please don't let it put you off visiting, others enjoyed it) I was a bit apprehensive of Cozumel, so a fellow diner on our table, who had been before, asked us to accompany then on a beach trip and this to me, was the highlight of my holiday. The beach was simply paradise, the water, clear and the sand, soft and white. The fact that only half a dozen people were on it was an added bonus. A nearby bar was welcoming and in the heat of the day, a pina colada goes down a treat! After having to practically drag me away, I reluctantly got into a taxi we'd hired for the day to go shopping. I needn't have worried, although the locals did their best to entice you into their shops, they were not aggressive and we voluntary went into the never ending shops to look around. We did purchase some reasonably priced gifts and enjoyed just wandering through this busy area. We enjoyed the experience and that beach will always be in the back of my mind on a gloomy,rainy day in England, one of many!! So we waved goodbye to Cozumel to return to the 'freedom' with fond memories of a great day.
