Nassau - kandrsmommy's Rating: 5.0

Have been to Nassau many times. We went to Atlantis and did the "Swim with the Seals". This was great since seals are my DS favorite animal. Not through Carnival. Was a wonderful time and would do it again. Took a cab over to Atlantis for about $20 incl. tip. Plenty of cabs for the way back too. Don't worry about Carnival, go yourself and keep track of the time. We did see some dolphin swims and they were very crowded. We were the only people with our little seal.

Went to Straw Market for about 15 minutes. Would have checked out some other places instead, but friends have never been there. Watched someone miss the ship by 30 seconds!!

Wish we had more time. Went to Lucaya by taxi (about $15). Wish I would have known before hand, but the beach had banana boat rides (my kids loved them), parasailing, and snorkeling. We did not bring our equipment or have enough time, but we would use them next time. The take you out to a small area off shore and you can snorkel all you want before they bring you back (like a little float out there). We swam a little, shopped and had the banana boat ride. Small bathroom with outside showers close by. Said for hotel guests only, but when you gotta go you gotta go, so we went and there is no one to stop you.

This was where the Scuba fiasco happened. DS and I went snorkeling and it was great. Saw plenty of fish a barricuda and several stingrays. Not as colorful as I thought it would be. Was raining that day, so maybe that was the reason. The shopping area just off the ship is cheesy and would rather go off to the island than shop there if there was more time.
