Least favorite port, but we were tired. Not many places to get coffee and breakfast around the Marriott. Very expensive city. Hop on Hop off bus good way to see the city. Did rain while were there and we were tired. That might influence my opinion.
Nice port of call. Use the hop on hop off boat. You can get to the old city and to the Versa very easily. Friendly people, clean city. The view sailing in and out is truly magnificent. Don't miss the Versa. We did it last and they lines were not very long.
Was raining. The walk to the market is very nice and the market is very interesting. Took a cruise around the islands that was very nice. Were there on a Sunday and a lot of places were closed. The trek up the steps to the Lutheran Church is worth the effort.
Great stop. You can walk to every thing in the old city. We got a cab for 5 to take us to the old city for about $4.00 pp and then he arranged to come pick us up for the another $4.00. Was there at the appointed time. Whatever you do, do not miss the upper city. The views are to die for. This is a great port, wish we could have stayed all day and cut Poland to a half a day. Just a great place to wander around. The prices on woolen goods are they best of the cruise.
Long bus ride from the ship through sort of depressing areas. The restored area is very nice and very crowded. We all felt we could have skipped this port, or stayed 1/2 day here and a whole day in Tallin. It was follwed by Oslo for a 1/2 day and it was better than Gdansk.
