Grand Turk - Cuper Cruiser's Rating: 3.0
The port is a taxi ride from the only town, which we would have like to experience, but when it came down to it, beaching won out over shopping and sightseeing. The beach area and adjacent shopping/dining area iss nice enough, but is big enough to accommodate one big cruise ship at a time. Due to Hurricane Bill, Carnival Glory (Liberty's big sister ship) came into Grand Turk with Liberty. So, there were not enough beach chairs or bar stools or dining tables not by a long shot. There was no way to know if this was a typical situation. Future cruisers with Grand Turk on the itinerary may want to research in advance whether another ship will share that port of call.

San Juan - Cuper Cruiser's Rating: 3.0
An interesting port, due to history and architecture. Unless you are looking specifically for jewelry) the shopping is significantly better than in Charlotte Amalie. We spent a lot of time (counting travel) on the tour of the Bacardi Distillery, but we would not recommend it. We didn't see ANY distillery operations, and instead saw movies and dispalys of the history of Bacardi. The rum samples were free, at least.
