Obviously known for "The Beatles" and that is their main draw. There are many areas to visit within Liverpool and the suburbs concerning the Beatles including a GREAT museum called "The Beatles Story". Very well done. However, keep in mind that the entire "small city" is not all about The Beatles. Other than a few areas dedicated specifically to them, there is a lot more to Liverpool NOT dedicated to the Beatles. It's just a typical small, port city.
Due to it's location in "Northern Ireland" - separated from the Republic of Ireland - we found it to really be very, very different from the Republic. It seemed much further behind, older, and many areas not quite as "happy".
