We walked around town after taking the train from the airport. I had been to Tivoli before, so we just toured the town and had lunch in the sqauare from a stand.Nice city, but expensive.
We took the Princess chartered train excursion which DH loved. It was a 3 hour trip through beautiful countryside. It was a very warm day and was too warm on the way home, but I think 80+ is unusual. Our guide was a bit too much into the Berlin Wall when we wanted to learn more about the city during WWII. DH asked her questions and she did explain more then about the war years. She showed us where Hitler's bunker was and answered all DH's questions. The lunch at the Beer garden was very good and yes, they did serve beer even though it was Sunday. All the stores are closed on Sunday. We were able to buy a bottle of Reisling at the restaurant to take back to the ship.
When we got off the ship, we walked left and got right on a Hop on Hop boat. We got off at the Vasa Musuem and walked right in using a credit card to pay. We beat the crowds and really enjoyed the museum. We then continued on to the palace and saw the changing of the guard and then continued the rest of the boat tour and returned to the ship for a late lunch.
This was the highlight of the trip. We booked the 2 day DenRus Value Tour and were thrilled with all we saw, no waiting in line and our great guide.A tip for others would be to be sure you print your DenRus tickets out on a colored printer. Ours did not show the DenRus logo, but when I showed the immigration woman the DenRus newspaper I had taken with me, she let us go through. The shops all accepted US dollars or Eros.
We took the ship's EZ tour. There was not much to see except low quality shops. We did stop at the Solidarity monument which was meaningful to several on our tour.
