Great beach experience! Clear waters, stiff drinks, AWESOME!! Took the skyride to paradise point, which is actually cheaper to purchase on the ship! Do it, you won't regret!! As for beach excursion, we went to Magens Bay, which cost $34 pp on the ship; we took a taxi for $8 pp each way and thne paid a $4 pp entry fee to the beach (the $4 is used for maintenance of the public beach area). The four of us went for very little more than half what it would cost on the ship. On the way to and from the beach, our driver gave us an island tour that lasted about 2 hours. He came back to get us exactly when he promised and didn't ask for payment until completely finished with the tour. Very professional!

Others on the cruise really enjoyed rainforest tour and Trafalgar falls. I would not recommend buying a shore excursion from anyone but Carnival. The downtown is flooded with gypsy taxis and shady characters, did not feel safe at all.

We rented a small car without doors called a "Moke"....if you are not experienced at driving on the left, don't do it. STreets are not well marked and you will spend most of your time (as did we) trying to figure out where the heck you are and how to get where you are going.

We hired a private tour operator who showed us banana plantations and took us to many scenic overlooks for photo opportunities. While he did OK...I would recommend a more organized tour, you get what you pay for here. Also, we encountered a naked man (eww) relieving himself in the water as we were walking back to the ship!! I wouldn't swim near the cruise port! The markets were great and had the biggest cinnamon sticks I've ever seen! Buy some banana ketchup while you're there.

Went to the beach in Antigua, water not so clear as in St. Thomas but nice beach and atmosphere nonetheless. The shopping was SPECTACULAR~! Lots of jewelry stores and duty free shops!

LOVED ST. KITTS!! Beware the strong british influence....there is NO CURSING on this island other than "Bloody" or "Damn"...anything else will result in a $500 fine!! We took a private tour through the "Tour store" (located to the left of the cruise dock) for $20 per person- half-island tour. This was about $40 per person purchased on board the ship. GREAT!! We got to go to a botanical garden overlooking the rainforest and see them make "Battique" a local method of dying fabric using wax. The tour guide was excellent, telling us history and interesting facts throughout the entire tour!
