Beautiful city! We walked uphill to the Artillery Park Heritage Site. This is one of Quebec's National Park and Historic Sites. We paid $10 for our family to visit which included reenactments/period costumes on sight. We ate fresh baked bread from an outside brick oven. Tours were given in both English and French. What a nice surprise! We would definitely like to go back.
Don't miss the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Especially Halifax's connection with the Titanic. Take a free bus ride up the hill to the Citadel; another Cananda Historic site. Tour guides are dressed as the Royal Artillery; about 45 minutes. There's a "Noon Gun" each day which we missed; a local tradition.
The ship anchors and you "tender" to Bar Harbor. The only disruption this day was going through customs now that we're back in the USA before we could leave the ship. We got a map from the BH visitor's center and caught a free bus ride that would take us to the visitor's center at the Acadia National Park. We then took a free park bus that made several stops in the park and came back to pick up every 30-40 minutes. We stopped at Sand Beach. The weather was gorgeous! We rolled up our jeans and put our feet in the sand. The kids had a great time! We definitely would like to go back.
