Rain day-we really didnnt see much of the island -did a little shopping in Bridgetown and took an improptu tour for $20 per person to a rain forrest.This was going to be one of our beach days but the rain took care of that.
We booked a tour outside of the cruiseline with Consol Tours. This excursion was the highlight of our cruise.Consol took us to a banana plantation,a water fall,the charming village of Ans le Rae as well as the fishing village of sofrie.We stopped for many "kodak Moments" as consol refered to aka some gougious scenic vista spots for some great pictures!We took a water taxi to Jaulouse beach for some snorkling and realxing beach time.This tour didnt even feel like a tour-it felt like family showing you around paradise.Consol made this shore day a Kodak moment-a very memorable one!
We went on a shore tour with Adventure Antigua-without going into detail we were not impressed with this company.Didnt get to explore the islands beaches as we did this tour instead-a real letdown.
We took a cab to the Divi Bay resort for our first beach day of the cruise.Nice weather ,calm caribbean water and lots of down time in the white sand beach made for a relaxing shore day.Later in the afternoon we took in a day of shoppng in Phillipsburg before returning to the ship.
The convience of a beach within a few minutes walking distance from the pier made for another great beach day on St croix. Loved the price $5 for a beach chair and the convience of walking back to the ship,grabbing some lunch at windjammer's then back to the beach for some more sun made this a nice shore day.The relaxed feel of this port of call as well as the people of St Croix was better than a day at the spa.
We really loved the old world feel of San Juan as well as both of the Forts soaking up both the history and cultural flavor of this beautiful city.Didnt have enough time to see more of Puerto Rico but we loved what we did see.
