We were really impressed by this port. This city of 1.1 million was a beautiful coastal resort area, with miles of beaches. What we especially enjoyed was the Scenes of Cartagena tour, which took us to many of the Spanish Colonial sites, including La Popa monastery at the highest point in the city. There were great views there. We also stopped at the huge fortress of San Felipe. In the old walled city we toured the San Pedro Claver church and convent. There was also a folkloric show at the naval museum, and some shopping. This tour gave us a thorough view of this UNESCO world heritage site.
