We walked ten minutes from the port and caught an express train into Rome and paid 37 Euros in total for two tickets. You can walk to the Forum and Coliseum from the train station.

We caught a city bus in Villefranche and paid 1 Euro each to take it into Nice on Saturday which happened to be market day! It was a fabulous way to get around and so inexpensive!
