Shuttle Bus transfer to Orchard Road, main tourist shopping malls. Good access to MRT underground train service, inexpensive, efficient. Previously visited Singapore so knew where to go. Tourist Information readily available. Singapore is modern, clean and safe.
This was the port of call for Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), we actually berthed at Phu My and didn't have to tender ashore. Saigon was a good 2 hour by road and it would have been impractical to do your own thing!! Princess provided a bus "Ho Chi Mihn City On Your Own" which dropped you in the centre of Saigon and collected you 4 hours later. It came with a courier who was very helpful re places to visit etc. At $69 (from memory) it was well worthwhile. Saigon with all its millions of motor cycles has to be seen to be believed.
We berthed on day 1 in the container port and were shuttled in to the harbourfront in Kowloon. We had visited HK previously so knew our way around. There is so much to see. The MTR is easily accessible, cheap and efficient. Ferries are good, over 65s go free!!! Trams on HK Island are good fun $2HK flat fare. The Peak is a big attraction but frequent low lying mist messes up the view. Stanley Market on HK Island is well worth a visit, buses run frequently and cheaply from the Central Station. We went through the harbour at night to relocate to another mooring for day 2 and saw at first hand the famous harbour lights. There really are so many places to see in HK,Ladies Market is worth a visit.
