Costa Maya was not very appealing to us. We took a taxi to the town and it wasn't really a town. It was just a strip of restaurants and bars with wranglers nagging you to sit down at one of their tables. We ended up taking a taxi to the Chakchoben Mayan ruins about 45 minutes away. We toured them and then he took us back to the ship. They were ok I guess. Its was good to see the ruins once but that was enough for me and my wife thought the same.
GUATEMALA was beautiful. I was surprised at this port. There wasn't much there as far as the town or the port but the people were so nice and friendly. And they didn't beg and pester you like they do in Mexico and other places. They are way more laid back it seemed. We took the waterfall tour with Happy Fish travel agencey and just had a wonderful time. Our tour guide and van driver were the nicest people you could ask for. They bent over backwards to make sure you were having a good time. The guide was very informative and the waterfalls were beautiful. It was a lot of fun
Belize did not impress us. It was more dirty and run down than we thought it would be. We took a city tour and went to a beach resort and did not enjoy it at all. Our guide was nice and friendly and we didn't have any problem with him. It was just that the city was not very interesting. Next time we will have to go more inland and do the cave tubing thing or something. That probably would have been a better time.
Cozumel was great as expected. We rented a scooter for the day and drove around the entire island exploring on our own. We stopped at sever beach spots for pictures. We ate at Carlos and Charlies on the beach and even found time to do some walking around and shopping in town. It was a great experience.
