Acapulco
Port Rating:
In Acapulco we'd decided to take a taxi to Condesa Beach, where we'd heard the crew themselves head to when onshore. The taxi ride was about 10-15 minutes, and cost us $5. (A note on taxis here…do NOT take taxis when you first get off the ship at any port. Walk about five minutes past the swarms of people and find someone else and negotiate. The first taxi driver here demanded $15. The next two demanded $10. The 4th was $5. Be firm, keep walking, and find the right price).
The taxi driver dropped us off at La Fiesta American hotel, and we walked through to get to Condesa Beach. The beach itself was fine, but we should have kept walking down the beach a bit instead of parking right behind the hotel, which is really for guests. We wound up in an awkward situation where everyone thought we were guests and we had to either fess up to the truth, or tell a white lie (which I confess I did in order to be able to use their very nice bathrooms). Our other thought was to go to Caleta, which probably would've been fine as well. We also met others who just walked down the strip and parked behind a casual eatery for the day. Entire cost for the day : $40.

Port Rating:
In Zijuatenejo we took a $5 taxi to La Ropa beach, which received huge kudos on Cruise Critic. It did not disappoint and was the best port of our cruise as a result. We asked the driver to take us to Paty’s Mar Y Mar. We got there early…before 9:30am, and there were no more lounge chairs. I was devastated, but in the end it worked out fine. We went next door to Elvira’s and stayed all day. The food was awesome, the people very friendly and the beach absolutely magnificent. Entire cost for the day: $50
