What a great place to visit. Use the tourist info across the street from the terminal. Very helpful. We did the Trolley tour and you need the whole day to do it any kind of justice at all. What a great idea. It is not cheap but you can get off anywhere on the our, walk around and then get back on the trolley and continue the tour. The guides are extremely informative. Best to catch the trolley in the "Old Town" as that is where it actually starts from and they have parking there as well.
We have been to Acapulco a couple of times now so we just walked across the street to the harbor fort and toured that. It was very informative and they are doing some repairs to it and making it more tourist friendly. There are a lot of beggars just outside the terminal entrance so be prepared for that experience.
A beautiful port to visit. One can just walk around the markets, which extend back from the harbor for about five blocks and to the south about five blocks. If you want good silver at good prices try Alberto's. There are a two stores and we usually go to the larger one. They always offer us something to drink. Right across the street is a liquor store that has an amazing selection of tequilas. You can also take a water taxi across the harbor to one of the beaches there and swim and relax at the beach.
