Nice enough port, not much of a language barrier; we just found a car service and asked them to take us to a particular private beach we knew of, and they obliged nicely and picked us up right at the time we asked for.
Our favorite port of them all on this trip and of all of the Caribbean. Once again we took a private tour that we pre-arranged for an island tour then had the driver drop us off at a private beach where he picked us up at a pre-determined time, worked out perfectly. Not surprising what a nice smile, good attitude and a little skin can get you... lol.
Didn't hear great things about this port, so we stayed close to the pier and near the ship. Even within the pier, while it was all safe, many of the folks working there, while they didn't make us uncomfortable, we were just as happy to return to the ship.
We had been 2 other times, and this is a nice beach/resort stop, but even the private or adult areas aren't quiet enough for us; we are spoiled and like to find those places where there is a good 100 - 200 ft between us and the next person; not going to get that here; but very nice port stop; very clean, surprisingly a lot of walking but there are trams; we even thought it would be nice if there were bikes to rent and some trails, but I am not sure how much property the cruise line owns and around the immediate area seems pretty hilly.
