This was my favorite port. We took a taxi to the beach that the crew recommended. I am sorry I do not remember what it was called. It took about half an hour to get there, but it was well worth it. We found starfish and conch living by the reef. We rented chairs and umbrellas and just relaxed on this beautiful beach.
We took a water taxi to the beach, where we went tubing and snorkeling (with our own gear). It was amazing. The water is crystal clear, warm and inviting. Tubing was so much fun. We paid about $10 per person for it and everyone loved it. You can tell them to go faster or slower, depending on how adventurous you are. We found a living sand dollar in the water, which none of us has seen before. Well worth going!
We took the "All inclusive Trunk Bay Snorkel" excursion. Trunk Bay was stunning. The reef is marked, so while snorkeling, you can see what some of the coral and some of the marine life are called, and they are abundant. Keep in mind there are no chairs there, so if you have a hard time getting on and off the ground you might want to reconsider this. There is also no shelter, which wouldn't matter, except that it poured while we were there. Neither of these things would in any way lessen my decision to do this excursion again. There are not showers so you can head back to the St. Thomas ferry clean.
