We just made our way towards the city centre (Oranjestad), walking distance, beautiful areas, nice to visit boat pier where all fishing boats leave from. you can get a great photo of your cruise ship from here, lots of shopping potential and clean streets. Wonderful area to spend a few hours.
One of our favourite ports (Willamstad), everyone must walk the pontoon bridge and brouse the streets of Willamstad at least once on your visit to Curacao, the floating market (fruits/vegetables/fish) is a must to explore, make your way in and out of the congested streets and alleyways with an abundance of shopping opportunity, some great deals and good quality goods can be found in Curacao, finish of your day on the shore front lined with umbrella tables with some refreshments and a snack with the picturesque buildings as your background
Just walked to the Careenage and back, not very clean, but still a sight to see especially walking through the Sendall Tunnel ( a must) when in St George's. Nice welcome area at the pier - this is fairly new and quite a welcome sight.
One of our favourite stops. Great excursion, comfortable A/C coach with a respectful/knowledgeable/funny guide, encapsulating all of what Barbados is, beautiful landscape, rich interior valleys, rough shorelines (east side Atlantic), some posh areas and of course the Platinum coast. Ship sponsored excursion called Coast to Coast Scenic Drive definitely recommended
We did the Cosol Tour, $65/person payable upon completion - 5-6hr tour - fantastic tour with great guide (Bumpy), reliable vehicles - we had 12 people on our tour - your fare covers refreshments (water, beer, punch, soda), all entry fees (volcano/mud bath/waterfalls), a fabulous spread of local food (all kinds of goodies), banana plantation visit with a taste, plenty of photo ops, they return you safe, sound and on time. Highly recommended tour, find them on-line (Cosol Tours)
We have been here before and taken the island tour so this time we just walked off ship and headed up towards the shopping area (central area), busy area, all shops/restaurants etc congested in this small area. Walking distance from ship
One of our favourites, been here many times and always seem to enjoy. Took the water taxi ($7) good for all day to and from the city centre, walked the boardwalk and tiny congested streets, always enjoy the numerous spots to enjoy a cold beverage or two (cheap) and some snacks. Rummaging thru all the vendors wares is always a nice challenge to find a worthwhile purchase and I guarantee you will find something to your liking
