My hubby and dad did a scuba excursion. They were not impressed and did not see anything too exciting (fish). Had better snorkeling experience in St. Thomas than scuba in Grand Turk. I took the kids to the beach right off the ship, fabulous snorkeling .
We took a cab for around $60 (15 people) to Isle de Verde. This beach was in the newer part of SanJUan. A chair rental was $4. Waters were $2. The beach was okay. Not the clearest of waters. And snorkeling was not an option. Way too many waves. However; the kids loved playing in the waves.
We took a cab to Little Bay. This was a nice beach. Clear water, the kids loved the waves. Said to be the best snorkeling from the beach. However; we did not see anything but a few brown fish. The weather was a bit windy the day we were there, so that could contribute to the poor snorkeling. Our cab was $6 pp to get to Little Bay
We took a fast catamaran to an island to snorkel with turtles. THis was my favorite day of our cruise. WE saw around 6 turtles, a few sting ray, and tons of colorful fish and coral. The Virgin Breeze was the name of our catamaran. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. After we were done snorkeling they gave us "pain killer, rum punch" YUMMY! they knock you on your butt though. We went to a beach break called Honeymoon beach. This was a secluded beach and so beautiful. I would recommend this excursion to anyone.
