Ketchikan
Port Rating: 5.0 out of 5+

No need to take a formal tour. There is so much to see and do in Ketchikan. Adorable water front community offers shopping, salmon river, totem poles all in easy walking distance!

Juneau
Port Rating: 5.0 out of 5+

Juneau is the port for whale watching. We were fortunate to view whales from our balcony at the rear of the ship our entire trip. So if whales are your thing do it here. We choose to wander around Juneau- found some awesome popcorn and Alaskan Coffee. If you end up at the far end of Juneau do not worry they offer free shuttle rides all day long to get you to the center of town. Had a lovely time just wandering around and poking in the little side street shops.

Skagway
Scenic Drive Rating: 5+ out of 5+

A group of us that meet thru cruise critics rented a van and drove to Emerald Lake and then took numerous side trips all the way back to Skagway. Stopped in at the point where the White Pass rail road off loaded passengers. Awesome antique town- but bring your credit card because the it is expensive to buy any trinkets here. You can get great ice cream and scones at this stop. We were fortunate to see black bears, 1st one crossed the road in front of us and we find she had a cub waiting for her on the side of the road-- we went about 8 miles more and another black bear crosses the road to get to not 1 but 2 cubs waiting for her! Truly a site to behold.
It was a great trip and the rental of the car came to $25 a person.

Yukon Suspension Bridge Rating: 5.0 out of 5+

We stopped at the suspension bridge- they have it so reinforced it doesn't seem like a suspension bridge at all. It cost $18 to cross it- In time however, they will have a completed mining village on one side and a museum on the other. Yes it was worth the $18.
