Nassau is an interested port of call. The main street is full of retail outlets for almost all types of jewelry and perfume. Since it is duty free, the prices are lesser expensive than in the U. S. Natives were cordial, but the prices in the souvenir shops were way overpriced. A "know-it-all" on the ship told us that these prices were negotiable, however, he was wrong. In his presentation, we felt more like he was sell a car than giving useful information on the shopping do's and don'ts. The prices for alcohol in Nassau are close to that on board, but you have to know the on board prices to make sure you are getting a value. There is a lot of history in Nassau and if you are going ashore for other than shopping, it may be of interest to you to firs find out where you want to go, then negotiate a fare from an independent rather than signing up for a Carnival sponsored tour. You will save money.

Except for the casino, not worth leaving the ship. The shopping area requires a van ride. Once there, the prices are high and quality low. Again, we were told that the merchants "negotiate"....but they didn't. Casino was great, if not to game, then just to look around. Nice beach, but limited access. After going there once, not worth a return trip.
