Excellent tour guide - practical, witty and forthright. They used a radio system - we were all provided with a receiver and an earpiece. This meant that the guide could talk to us via the earpiece without having to raise her voice and without us having to be right by her in order to hear. It also meant that she could gather the group together without shouting at people. Fabulous. The obligatory "short" carpet presentation took 45 mins and then turned in to a heavy sell.
Tender to shore and then you take a cable car (costs EUR 4.00 per person each way so be sure to keep the money aside for the return trip). You need to have lunch in a restaurant overlooking the caldera!
To be honest, my least favourite of the ports as every shop was a re-hash of everything we had seen in the last last 4 ports, only 4 times more expensive. EUR 4.50 for a small bottle of coke!! Also, lots of moped, vans and quad bikes in the narrow roads, and you are the one expected to get out of the way.
