Nassau, Bahamas has a high crime rate and it's no secret. I found this out by going online and again, I applaud Carnival for posting a letter in the cabins the night before expressing this issue and the ways to stay safe. The island is nice. Traffic is crazy. We visited the Queen's Steps and Fort Fincastle, both within walking distance from port. We got some sightseeing in and then took shelter during the rain at Senor Frogs. Planning is the key. I got a map right at the port, I asked where the sights were and we were on our way. We wanted to save money. The bulk of the city is near the port. In better weather, the horse carriage tour seems ideal. Plenty of cruisers go for the beach experience.
