Brugge (Bruges)
Port Rating: 4.0 out of 5+

Took private taxi to Bruges (about 20 mins away, and cost 50 for 5 people)

Definitely better value than the 25 pp that Celebrity wanted for their coach.

Bruges very pretty, though very crowded with tourists on a summer Sunday (and Belgian public holiday as well).
3-4 hours plenty of time for a wander and a lunchtime drink

Warnermunde an unexpected delight. Gorgeous small seaside town with plenty to look at.
During day we took train to Bad Doberan to take trip on Molli steam railway. Highly recommended and easy to do on your own

Took HOHO boat straight from pier, which took us directly to Vasa museum. Easily the must-see attraction in Stockholm.
After that just walked around Gamla Stan (old town). Very busy but pretty in sunshine. (Would gibe the 'Changing of the Guard' at the Royal Palace a miss though as it goes on for hours!

Less to see than in other Scandinavian capitals but still enough to fill day.

Took shuttle bus to centre of town ($10) and after that everything (including Church in the Rock) was all walkable. Shopping opportunities also good

St. Petersburg
Port Rating: 5+ out of 5+

Had 2 day private excursion booked through SPB.

Getting through Russian immigration on first day was a bit time consuming, but to be honest no worse than getting into US.

Very exhausting 2 days seeing all teh main sights, but didn't know when we'd be back this way again so had to pack it in!

Highlight probably Peterhof palace gardens, but don't miss a ride on the Underground if you can.

Russion lunches "interesting"!

Lovely gem of an historic city, perfect size to just walk around.

We took shuttle bus to town ($10) although only about 15-20 mins away so could easily have walked it.

Very well "connected" city with free WiFi everywhere.

Ship docked about 15 mins north of Little Mermaid so a very pleasant walk into town bringing you past Royal Place and into the old port area Nyhavn.

Expensive city to eat or shop in, but huge variety of high-end shopping if you want to indulge in Retail therapy!
