Saint John (New Brunswick)
City Tour, Bay of Fundy, and St. Martin Rating: 3.0 out of 5+

Getting out of St. John as soon as you can is possible with this tour. It makes a 20 minutes market stop, which is fine. You see the reversing falls on your way to St. Martin. It's moderately interesting. Then you go back to the ship to eat lunch. WHAT were they thinking when they set this itinerary?! They should have you eat in the market area or at St. martin at the restaurant. Poorly thought out. We went back on ship fo a quick deli lunch (best food we could find on board!). Then boarded again for the St. martin portion. We arrived at a restaurant there where we looked at the caves from the beach at a distance... Not much interaction. Overall, the St. Martin caves are worth a trip, but the St. John part of trip could be dropped entirely.

Acadian Maple Experience Rating: Not Rated

AWFUL: Acadia Maple shop. LAME: 35 minutes to shop in a maple candy/syrup store with dvd showing on tv how they make maple syrup -- this should NOT be on the tour.

Halifax Rating: 2.0 out of 5+

The tour takes you all around the city to the Citadel. We pass public gardens twice on way there. We spent 15 minutes at Citadel (but it should have been at least an hour and half) and moved on to the public gardens where we spent 1-1/2 hours (not necessary!!). The garden is a 15 minute walk. Nice garden. Then we were to find our lunch. Free Wifi, but could not connect, at McDonald's. Not a great selection of dining options.

Peggy's Cove Rating: 4.0 out of 5+

Then off to Peggy's Cove. Nice views of cove from rocks on shore. Pretty little lighthouse. Lots of little gift shops. Picturesque place, nice little hat shop there where milliner makes original headgear -- not cheap, but unique! Off to Titanic graveyard -- very interesting but depressing way to end a tour especially considering we are about to board a cruise ship! Then back to boat. Tour guide was very good!
