We expected the Acropolis to be crowded but it wasn't too bad. Those who walked a bit slower moved off to the sides so the faster walkers to get ahead. Luckily there was a breeze on the day we were there making it much more enjoyable.
City Tour Rating:
We really enjoyed the excursion through Athens and the Acropolis. Our tour guide, Aphrodite, was very knowledgeable. The excursion allowed for free time in the Plaka area which we really liked.
The highlight of our trip. Our tour guide, Oz, was EXCELLENT! He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We even learned a few important words in Turkish! Oz was very good about the pace for the walk through the ruins. Not too fast or too slow! His umbrella made it very easy to follow him.
House of Virgin Mary Rating:
Again, Oz, was FANTASTIC! Even though there were a lot of people, everyone was very respectful of the site.
On a previous trip to Dubrovnik, we toured the city on our own. This time we chose a walking tour and we were not disappointed. Maris was able to give us a lot a history of the city along with visiting many of the important sites. We also took the cable car to the top of the hill for a great view of the city. This excursion also allowed for some free time which was greatly appreciated. We were very lucky that the trip ended just as it started to rain.
The only downside to this tour was the fact that many of the stores in Split did not take the Euro. In fact, there were 2 stores that we were interested in buying souvenirs but when Euros were not accepted we left. I was not willing to exchange Euros for Kunas for the short time we were there.
Trogir Walking Tour Rating:
We really enjoyed the walking tour of Trogir. Very interesting city!
