Nice is a fabulous port. You don't need an excursion as you can walk around and get the flavor.

We walked around ourselves. All of the excursions offered by the cruiseline didn't take you around the port we docked in -- they took you outside of the port to some other area so you didn't get to experience the port. Cannes was fabulous. We walked around, saw the local market, sat in some outside cafes for Cafe Creme, and had lunch at a fabulous local restaurant to enjoy the local seafood -- which you don't get on the ship.

This port was horrific -- no one felt safe. The tour was really poor. They just dropped you near a flea market area. Very touristy. No real local flavor.

We walked around. Stopped in a local cafe. You can get great WiFi in the cafes...the ship steward even tells you not to purchase the Internet package because the service is so spotty and yet you can sit at a cafe, order a coffee, and get free WiFi. We had the most amazing seafood lunch here!
