We were looking for a quieter beach, one that we could enjoy the scenery & not the crowds of people & buildings lining the sand, so after a lot of research went to Le Gallion Beach for the day. HIGHLY recommend it! We were the only ones there when we arrived & the beach never got real crowded. GORGEOUS beach, very clear, calm waters, palm trees & hills in the background. The coral reef breaks the strong waves on the other side from reaching the horseshoe shaped beach so it's great for small children & for seeing all the underwater creatures. To the left of the beach where the coral reef is, there were tons of sea urchins, little fish, hermit crabs & beautiful pieces of coral & shells. If you climb the rock you get another beautiful view of the waves crashing up against the rock. I found 2 conch shells with the conch still in them, which was VERY interesting to say the least! Make sure you make arrangements with your taxi driver to come back for you at a certain time, they don't hang around. Beach chairs & umbrella's & some water toys are avaiable for rent & there is a small restaurnt, but there's not much else on this beach, so if you want to snorkel, bring your own gear. We will DEFINATELY come back here again!
