Not much to see in Ketchikan unless you are into the more "active" excursion trips. It is a quaint town. I found the tourist shops among the best in all the ports for moderately priced souveniers.

Does the sun ever shine in Juneau? This is my third trip there and it has always been cloudy and misting. Nevertheless, who could not enjoy a visit to the Mendenhall Glacier. We found renting a car better than taking a tour as we took our time viewing the Glacier and waterfall from various vantage points.

Not much of a town. The National Park Service facilities are nice, and the drive into Canada was outstanding. Just couldn't justify the expense of the train for four people.

Taking in the Kenai Fjords cruise tour was one of the "must do" parts of our trip, the main reason we chose not to go on one of HAL's Cruise Tours because they don't offer it. We took in the 7 1/2 hour tour at Major Marine Tours and it was one of the best parts of the trip. More about it in my other post.
