I have been to Juneau a few times, so didn't go out to Mendenhall Glacier, but it is a "must see" for anyone going to Juneau for the first few times.
there is a city bus that costs $2.00 each way that will take you to Walmart, Costco, or Fred Meyer. the city bus will also take you to Mendenhall, but there is a walk in to the glacier of about 1 1/2 mile.

Seward was a small town, it had a free shuttle to take you to the downtown shopping area, which was about a 4 block area. There was an aquarium to tour
but we didn't got there. there were a lot of campers in this port, I understand that the fishing season for a certain fish was opening a day or so after we were there.

there was a shuttle bus for $1.00, we took it for a tour of the town, and out to the Fairgrounds where "Dalton City" had been re constructed, it is a small Ghost town that has a really small brewery, and a yarn store, that was all that was opened...The fame for Dalton City comes from the movie " White Fang" which was shown on the ship in the Waajang Theatre.
After taking the shuttle around town, I decided to walk up the hill to the salmon store to buy some salmon which was mostly smoked, or canned. I walked the entire town, which had a lot of shops and went back to the ship.

I have been here quite a few times, so just walked around and looked in the shops, we were in Ketchikan on our way up to Seward, and again on the way back

Our Canadian friends from Kelowna picked us up at the train station and took us to Frazier University to a wonderful restaurant with a great view! we walked through the rose garden, and some of the grounds. there were beautiful views in every direction. Then we were taken on a driving tour around Vancouver, through China town, and around Kipsilano to look at some of the homes and other areas of Vancouver, they then took us back to the Amtrak station, where we said out good byes.
