Corfu, birthplace of Napoleon, is a delightful island. It is easy to walk around Corfu town and see the marketplace, get a coffee and do some shopping. The house where Napoleon was born is now a museum, but it was not opened.
We walked off the pier and did our own tour of the city. We toured the Diocletian's Palace subterranean area which charged a small entrance fee and was well worth it. This is an easy place to tour on your own.
