Wanted to walk up the 500 step flight of stairs but it stank of donkey dung so we decided not to walk. Since there was a line at both the cable car and donkey rides and the donkey rides seemed quicker (cos there were more donkeys), we opted for this. This was a disaster and could have been potentially dangerous. The donkeys go up the trial on their own and there is no way you can really control them. The bad thing is while going up, you constantly encounter herds of donkeys coming down and when they see each other, they start running. It is a bit scary to see your donkey running into an oncoming herd. I ended up with a sore bottom and a bruised calf. My advice - take the cable car.
Nicest of all the ports we visited. Do not miss it. Again, no need to worry. There is a public bus right outside the terminal. Change money first (we changed â,¬20 - was enough for the bus ride, coffee and snacks). If you buy the bus ticket from the booth, it is cheaper than if you get it from the bus driver.
