We walked into St. Tropez to the park and went to La Tarte Tropezienne to buy a tart to bring back for tea on the ship. I bought the frambois tarte. The tarte is a sponge cake with orange blossom infused creme and topped with Chantilly. The best thing at the shop, not counting the fantastic almond croissant. we watched the old men play petanque in the park and stopped to buy post cards. It was May Day and there were people selling bouquets of flowers everywhere.
Cannes is getting ready for the film festival. We took pictures on the red carpet, and shot pictures of the handprints in the sidewalk of the stars. We tried our luck at the casino, ate a Nutella crepe (not to be missed!), bought bubbles at the Tout du Euro store, and used the free wi-fi and the port tourism office.
We were docked with the war memorial right outside our balcony. We walked into town and the boardwalk is beautiful. The flower market is not to be missed. Although we did not take the town train, we wished we had after talking to those who did. We actually did a bus tour of Nice out of Monaco.
