San Diego is a lovely city and it was our departure city. The check in at the pier was terrible...cruise line officials need to take a look at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale - that is an excellent check in location. San Diego has a lot of work to do to improve their cruise line check in location.
Cabo San Lucas is a wonderful place...lots to do, wonderful beaches, great cafes and restaurants and excellent shopping...The scenery there is fantastic and there are lots of smaller boats that will take you out and around to see the beautiful beaches up close...what a great place to visit for a holiday.
We had been to Costa Rica several times so we decided to walk around the town, visit the market and go to the beach. We ate at a local beach-side cafe and the owner provided us with lounges and an umbrella - we spent the day swimming, drinking cold beer and eating delicious fried chicken...it was a great day - oh yes lots of shopping....
We did our own tour and walked around the city...it is a lovely place. Some shopping, some swimming and a great noon hour meal on the beach...what more could you ask for. We bought some wonderful Mexican cotton clothing while in Puerto Vallarta. Great people with smiling faces.
We got a taxi and went to the large shopping centre - at the Madison Store. What a great selection there and just 500 feet away there is another great shop called El Costco and that was a wonderful place to buy souvenirs for family and friends.
We got a taxi back to the ship - only cost us $2.00 each but we felt it was worth more than that and paid the driver $8.00 for his excellent service. We had a great time. Great shopping.
I love this city. It reminds me of San Juan and also Havana - same architecture and charm. We took a taxi to the old city and went about sight seeing and enjoying all the charm of this wonderful, historic city. Had a great lunch in a garden cafe and then shopped some more. Wonderful shops and lots of side walk vendors. Visited all the historic buildings including the magnificent cathedral. Cartagena is a wonderful city...this was my third visit and I would go back again tomorrow...
