San Juan was a waste of time for us..we just wanted to beach it up and snorkel on this trip. Might have been fun for a young group to go drink and explore a bit but not so fun with our parents. The forts were interesting to explore though, would be fun esp for military history buffs.
Grand Turk is awesome for being lazy and not planning ahead.. walk 2 min from the ship to a beach, pool, stores, etc. Its so easy! You exit the ship and enter this fake little shopper city. Beach to the left and the right. Be warned, the RIGHT SIDE (coming from the ship) has some palms and shade and its great, but its NOT for swimming. Lots of rocks in the water and its very difficult and uncomfortable to get past them to swim. Risk hurting yourself or just go to the other side of the beach! We ended up on the other side to swim after getting frustrated with all the rocks.
Margharitaville is a place inside the shopping centre where the ship docks. Basically a big boozers paradise with a swim up bar. Yes the pool was full off pee and the drinks weren't cheap, but its a great place to spend a few hours. DJ and people watching kept us entertained.
