We have been to Honolulu many times and always enjoy making our way to the largest mall, Ala Moana Mall. There is so much to see and do here and the local bus system is great. Lots of Happy hour places to experience.
There were several free shuttle buses to take you in different directions and some places were close enough to walk to. Sorry that we didn't go on any of the excursions. I heard that you can hire a cab to show you around the Island for $120 and if that was split a couple of ways it would be definitely the way to go.
We were on the tender at this port and it was a painstakenly long wait to wait for a lifeboat when you consider there were a couple of thousand passengers. It was especially frustrating waiting in the lifeboat where it was hot and humid while waiting for a space to dock. This port offered a lot in the way of the art in the park, restaurants, and shops as soon as one disembarked. The only downfall was a lack of free internet service.
