One of the worst shore excursions we have ever been on. A couple hundred of us were herded onto a giant boat and it seemed the primary purpose there was to sell alcohol. The only thing free was non alcoholic punch. The tour guides did not seem to be native. The only thing local was the steel drum band which was pretty good. After a short cruise to the middle of the harbor, they opened up the glass bottoms. You could see reefs, but no fish. We then went to a beach for about an hour swim The beach was nice, but nothing special. We then had about a 15 minute tour of the bay
The best part about this stop was walking around St. Thomas afterwards. We ate lunch at a local restaurant, Cuzzin's, a block up from the main street. Highly recommend. The rest of St. Thomas seemed to be one jewelry store after another
This was a great shore excursion. We took a nice tour of the island in a bus and made a couple of stops along the way. Dominica is a beautiful island. The falls were spectacular. We then went to the Champagne Reefs for a snorkel. A bit difficult getting into the water as it is a rocky beach, but this was where the volcanic reef was. We enjoyed the snorkel but it was not long enough.
This was all a part of one package, sea turtles and shipwreck snorkeling. The snorkeling was fantastic, however we only had about 20 minutes at the wreck, far to short of a time. We then were taken to a beach for about an hour where we were supplied unlimited rum punch. The beach was beautiful, however we would have rather spent more time snorkeling.
Turtle Swim Rating: Not Rated
We took a fast boat to the turtle location and we were not disappointed. We immediately saw two giant sea turtles that were swimming around our feet. A great experience
This was the one excursion we did booked independently and we were glad we did. We learned of this excursion through the Sun forum. We went with Cosul tours and they provided us with a full day touring around the beautiful island of St. Lucia. We went to a banana plantation, we went to a home where we sampled local food, we drove to the drive in volcano where we had an excellent tour guide, we had some beach and snorkel time, we visited a water fall that you could swim in and ended with the best freshly baked bread ever. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. Highly recommended.
