The taxi from the port to downtown was fun. We then did some shopping and went to the beach (Magens Bay). This beach does not compare with any of the beaches we have visited in the Caribbean. It was dirty, the water was cold, the facilities are third world in nature for a US Virgin Island, the taxi drivers are aggressive to get a fare back to the ship. I had to tell several of them to go away. However, our taxi fares $4/person from ship to downtown, $8/person from downtown to Magens Bay, $4/person to enter the beach, $9/person back to the ship from the beach, (total $25/person) was still half of the ship excursion $49).
We did the horseback and ATV tour. The Horses are just walking around an estate
on trails, roads and fields and the horses were well behaved.
The ATV adventure was excellent. Geoff the owner has just purchased the tour in January of this year and was a good host. The quads are governed to stay at <25 miles an hour but have good power with plenty of terrain to challenge first time riders. The guides were great and the machines were in good working order.
Bring a dew rag to cover your head, the helmets are a bit gross and sweaty inside.
