St. Thomas was overcast, cold and raining. I know it is a beatiful island but the cold weather and rain didnt do much justice. The kids didnt seem to care though they still played in the sand and swam for about 2 hours.
Trip costed about $52 for 4 of us to and from the beach with admission for 2 adults into Magans Bay.
Admission to Magans Bay is $4/adult and Children are free. $40 Cab fare
We absolutely loved it. We took a local taxi for $40 roundtrip to Jolly Beach. Driver (Lennon Charles was our driver) he was very friendly and went out of his way to make some stops for us at a few stores to and from Jolly Beach. Access to beach is free and it is so beautiful. I said it over and over again, just couldnt get over it. Stunning!
Tortola was nice. There was not as much shopping as compared to the other ports. We only went to the Dolphin Discovery to swim with the Dolphins. I purchased 2 adult tickets and 2 child tickets directly through the company and only paid $212 total (using their coupon code) AWESOME DEAL! Cruise line charges $169 per person. We walked there (30 min. walk) and took a taxi back paying $10 to get back.
This trip we went to Junkanoo Beach. I don't recommend going in the water but if you do wear water shoes or Crocs. There is broken glass all over and beer top cans. A lot of rocks and shells all over too. Perfect if you just want to lay on the beach with a drink, listen to some live music and 15 min. walk from cruise. Easy walking!
Later we dropped the kids off to Camp Carnival and went to Senor Frogs. Good Drinks. Best bang for your buck is getting "The Yard" drink $16 but strong and good. The Bahama Mama and Hurricane are pretty strong. Fun balloon hats, Congo line and free shots on Congo line. Last year they had some swings near the bar but I didn't see them this time. There were 6 ships docked in Nassau too, a lot of people around!
Cable Beach is a nice beach. We went here last year but you can easily get here by taking a $1.25 Jitney Bus to and from (15-20 min ride).
