Princess Cruises own beach with a captive audience. All purchases on the beach are charge to your ship account. A 5 mins tender transfer to the island from the boat, sandy beach with rocks under foot as you enter water for swimming etc. (poss wear soft old trainers)
This would be a 5 star but it is a Princess Cruise run beach and therefore sames prices as ship. Free BBQ and food during lunch time supplied by ship and served by ships crew.
Very nice island, catch water taxi to main area $7 round trip or 30 mins walk, free wifi in candy store just after you get off or in MaccyD in main street, very busy because we had 5 ships in but still lots to see, most of the beach front loungers / shades are for hire at around $25 for 2 inc 5 or 6 bottles of beer in a iced bucket cheaper as you walk down the beach front.
Did't book cruise trip as was told there was lots of taxis doing tours as you get off boat. We had a great tour of the island with local taxi (Moses Taxi Tours $25 each) Try to get in cab with driver as you get better info during tour and Air Con. Stopped at a local beach just around from ship. Emerald Beach very quite with a lovely location with white sandy beach and shallow waters. Taxi driver will drop you off there but you will need to get a $4 per person taxi back, Very relaxing day. Ray visited beach waters while there much to the surprise of people in water.
Just took a day on the beach here which is just off the boat excellent very sandy shallow beach but can get very crowded within the Grand Turk Cruise Centre. (A cruise company set up entertainment area, I think) Excellent area or just walk up the beach a little to many quieter bars outside the GTCC area. Alcohol is quite expensive at a similar price to the ship but with the ship being the only income it's fair I think. Lots of things to do here if you like Bikes, Segways or motor scooters in the Cockburn Town area about 3 miles from ship. Free wifi available in GTCC bar area.
