Well run and a good thing to do There were 5 ships in port and we wanted to avoid the crowds. Pleasant sail, not too many fish, good crew. St Thomas looked crowded and run down. Glad we didn't stay there.
We did the pools falls and more excursion. THee are 4 of us and the guide was great - the driver superb- this island is all hills and mountains, Liked the variety of driving, hiking, water, etc. Learned a lot and enjoyed the day, There are "hawkers" at every stop but not too intrusive.
This was the perfect day- We were met a the terminal, taken into town to the catamaran. There were 40+ people on a boat that handles 80 - plenty of room and a fabulous crew. Drinks, great lunch, good equipment There was always a crew in the water when we swam or snorkeled. They were so attentive. We snorkeled twice and the crew fed the trustees so we were sure to see them. They we sailed and moored for a fabulous lunch and swim. What a great trip.
We booked an excursion with Real St Lucia tours - it was just for 2 of us and a driver/guide. eE could create our own day on this gorgeous island. We went to all the towns, ate bananas, saw volcanos, went into the hot springs, ate at a local restaurant and toured the botanical gardens. OUr guide, Sammi, was very laid back and attentive. We rally enjoyed his tour.
We did the ship's excursion - the America's Cup Sailing Regatta- which is the highlight of our trip. Loved it. Then we walked around town and shopped. Got a better deal here in the Diamonds International store than in 2 of their other stores on other islands. Ate by the beach, enjoying great grilled seafood, live music and the day. We were the only ship in port on a Sunday- so it was quiet and lovely.
